ANSWERS TO TEACHERS QUESTIONS

Teachers often ask us questions about CPS, the way to use the Classroom Performance System for lessons, assessments, and testing.  You are always welcome to email us with questions or go to www.einstruction.com and "support" where you can type in a question in "LIVE Online" box to a technician or call on the toll free 1-888-333-4988 number.

We thought it might be help to share some of the answers below.  Just scan and see if your question is in here, then read the reply.

Question:  How Do I Get Pre-Existing Lessons For CPS ?

There's three possibilities.  If you have the newest software off www.einstruction.com (CPS 5.01) you'll see a search engine under the 'prepare' tab.  Click it and there is some sample content, though the objective is to eventually make that into a place where teachers can share content...the ideal!  It's just not there yet, keep checking back.

Second possibility...
Do you have the Examview program?  We've offered examview and the learning series to a few schools in the area. It is an annual license and has pre-existing lessons.  But, if you've got CDs that came with your textbook, that was probably created by examview because they did it for most book publishers and then you can just pop that right into CPS with click on "prepare" tab, then "add file" then find the digital files and double click.  Engage the examview lesson by going to 'engage' tab and putting a checkmark next to the examview file, then up at the top click "engage" and "ok" in the setup box.  You'll get a toolbar that says "NEXT #1" on it and that's the first examview question.

Third possibility...
Go to google.com and select the little link that says "advanced search".  Type in the subject you want at the top. A few spaces down select "files of type" and tell it you want powerpoints.  The click "go" and it will find all powerpoints on the web that have to do with your subject.  If you know how to use powerpoints this is great because you can edit and change it to be your lesson but it gives you a head start.  Add questions by inserting a new slide.  You can then pop it into CPS the same was as examview,  prepare' tab, 'add file', browse in your computer and find the file then double click it.  Deliver the same way too from the "engage" tab.

You will see the powerpoint slide with the addition of the toolbar at the bottom. Select "verbal" mode to ask a question with multple choice answers.

Alternative:  go to www.einstruction.com and get the download "CPS for Powerpoint" which you can use as a completely seperate software from regular CPS .  The advantage of it is that you can "insert" question slides just by clicking "insert" and then click on the correct answer after you've typed them in and when you launch slide show from CPS for Powerpoint (don't open regular CPS) then it will give you the full slide screen and the students can answer their questions from there and you have preselected "correct" so they'll see that after you end the question.

What leading educators say about CPS.

I cannot sing CPS praises enough.  Most of our teachers who use the response clickers say they will never give another paper test again. The kids love it!

One of the things we wanted to do was look for deficiencies that students had in math and you can do it with CPS. Not only that, it's so easy to use for teachers.  Dr. Mike Hall, Deputy Superintendent
